Ripple and the SEC have been going at it for almost a year now and Ripple always seems to be pointing out how XRP is being singled out.
CEO of Ripple, Brad Garlinghouse, has been very outspoken during the whole process voicing his displeasure with the current regulations that are being forced on the crypto market.
Garlinghouse is now saying that he believes that Ethereum was given “ a regulatory green light” which was what pushed the token into the number two spot over XRP.
Ripple has filed a Freedom of Information Act request to get a former SEC official on the stand to explain why they declared that ETH was not a security in 2018.
“Within the last few years, XRP was the second most valuable digital asset. As it became clear the SEC had given a hall pass to ETH, ETH obviously has kind of exploded and that clarity has helped.” said Garlinghouse.
At the beginning of the month a U.S. district judge allowed individuals that are holding XRP to participate as defendants on the case. Garlinghouse also stated “You have nearly 50,000 U.S. people who hold XRP who are trying to sue the SEC for ‘protecting them’.”
