Key Points:
The US is finally getting a BTC ETF this week with ProShares announcing that “BITO” will be listing on the New York Stock Exchange for trading tomorrow.
This ETF will be representing the futures contracts on BTC derivatives since futures prices are less volatile on a day-by-day basis. A traditional ETF would track the current price of the asset instead of the futures contracts.
The SEC is also expected to approve at least four more ETFs but ones that track the current assets price could still be in limbo for a bit longer.
An ETF may not be the best way to purchase BTC; however, it does give more opportunity for exposure in their portfolios. Many investors would also like that they can go through their traditional brokerage accounts rather than going through the onboarding process for a crypto exchange.
