Block’s Bitcoin Mining Facility Will Be Powered By Tesla
Block, formerly Square, has made recent headlines for their upcoming Bitcoin mining facility. Block is one of the few companies with a confirmed purchase deal for Intel’s new ASIC miners. The chips are impressive in energy efficiency and hashing power and will compete with the top Bitcoin ASIC manufacturers.
This facility is a joint initiative between Block and Blockstream. It was recently announced that construction on the facility has begun and that it will be powered by Telsa solar products. The facility is being built at a site in Texas owned by Blockstream.

Petition to Halt Bitcoin Mining Fails
Greenidge Generation Holdings started commercially mining Bitcoin in 2020. Greenidge has faced legal action before, all of which have failed to halt their mining plans.
New York State Supreme Court judge Daniel Doyle dismissed a petition filed by enviornmental activists. The petition was collected to stop the mining operation at Seneca Lake as well as half plans for expansion of the facility. The judge sided with Greenidge, stating that all appropriate steps to access environmental impact was taken by the company and that none of the petitioners live within 2,000 feet of the facility.
