Facebook Will Support NFTs in its Metaverse
Facebook (FB) will be changing its name to Meta ($MVRS) as it shifts the company focus from social media to the virtual reality world that it calls “the metaverse.”
During the company’s “Connect” conference, CEO Mark Zuckerberg disclosed the rebranding of Facebook and the company’s plans for the metaverse and virtual reality in the coming decade.
Representatives from Facebook mentioned that the new metaverse will support NFTs. Facebook Head of Metaverse Products Vishal Shah stated that “this will make it easier for people to sell limited edition digital objects like NFTs, display them in their digital spaces and even resell them to the next person securely.”
The digital push alongside the company’s Novi crypto wallet indicates a shift from the social media company as it shifts gears to focus on the digital asset space.
