Ethereum Took Another Step Towards PoS
ETH developers have taken the next step in #TestingTheMerge by deploying a mainnet shadow fork to stress test and determine areas that need to be further developed. The merge hit a few hours ago this morning and has been reportedlly producing blocks.

The shadow fork process involves copying certain data from one network to another (usually from one testnet to another). The first mainnet shadow fork went live and will be a crucial step in testing important factors such as sync, smart contracts deployed on Goerli, and benchmarking node performance.
