Ethereum Gas Fees Continue to Rage Higher

  • Ethereum fees continue to remain at extreme highs as more and more users flock into the DeFi space.

  • The average gas price for a transaction on the Ethereum network is about 151.88 Gwei at the moment, a 142.3% increase from an average 62.70 Gwei in November 2020.

  • Some of the biggest consumers of gas include Uniswap, OpenSea, andTether ($USDT) transfers.

  • As gas fees continue to heat up, Ethereum’s built in deflationary protocol continues to burn more and more fees that would have normally went to miners on the network. Over 80,446 ETH have been burned so far since August, an equivalent to $345,226,440 USD.
