Coinbase Proposes Crypto Watchmen

Regulation has been a hot topic within the industry since Bitcoins rise during the 2020 pandemic, but questions surrounding the United States’ current financial monitors have plagued any forward movement. Coinbase is the number 1 crypto exchange within America and their once again leading within the space by proposing a new crypto regulatory agency.

The institution would replace the current archaic web of regulators overseeing crypto currently. "[The new regulator's] authority would include a new registration process established for marketplaces for digital assets (MDAs) and appropriate disclosures to inform purchasers of digital assets," said the document, as well as outline how the new system would be self-regulatory as is custom for all others within the industry.

The current systems in place are too old and built upon ideas that were made too long ago to accurately review crypto, it should be no question considering it’s taking an exchange to bring such a bright idea to a long-standing problem. On the flip side, id is lying if I say I believe this will actually get taken into action. The regulatory regimes, will not be quick to give up their power over Crypto, but maybe they’ll see this document and get some bright ideas, and do something for a change.
