Key Points:

  • Music is one of the many untapped outlets of the NFT space so far with the most notable music NFT being Kings of Leon dropping their album as an NFT. Other artists such as Torey Lanez have also released some of their work as an NFT.

  • Now with the Weeknd getting involved music NFTs have a chance to go mainstream as he is one of the highest selling pop artists of all time in multiple countries. No NFTs of The Weeknd have been confirmed just yet; however, the creative mind and reach he can attain is enough to see what they are trying to accomplish.

  • “As an artist, I am always compelled to push the boundaries of how to deliver art within culture and have been intrigued with NFTs for some years,” said The Weeknd in a release. “I was eager to join [Autograph] in launching a new vertical in the music space that explores what the metaverse could be.”

  • Autograph will also be releasing NFTs of the horror movie series “SAW” starting next week. This means they are venturing into music, movies, sports, and who knows where they go from there.
