The Belgian Football League is the first to enter Crypto trading card market.

This marks the first deal between the blockchain firm and a pro sports league.

Belgian’s Jupiler Pro Soccer league have partnered with crypto sports company Sorare to develop crypto based player trading cards.

The deal will cover all 24 teams, from the top two divisions of Belgian soccer, and will allow users to buy and trade their player collectibles based on their game day performances.

Players cards are traded through an auction system, and used through Sorare’s gaming platform to gain rewards.

This is Sorare’s first partnership with a Professional soccer league to issue its crypto trading cards. They made similar deals last year with the National Football League, and Major League Baseball. And in more recent weeks, the United States Women’s Soccer team has entered into a deal with Sorare to produce a digital collectible collection of their own.

Jupiler Pro League Executive Pierre Francois added:” The Pro League is proud to be the first of the European Professional football leagues to sign such a licensing agreement based on the blockchain technology”.

Sorare co-founder Nicholas Julia said, “ We see this as a game changing announcement for the crypto good, and the football industry. We believe that Sorare’s technology and user-friendliness will allow football fans to freely trade and play with their digital goods.
