Super Bowl 51 Tickets to Come with Commerative NFTs

Lucky football fans attending this year's Super Bowl will be receiving an NFT along with their ticket. This comes from a partnership between Ticket Master and the NFL.

This special NFT will have the ticket holder’s section, row, and seat as per an NFL press release that accompanied the announcement.

This will mark the first time the NFL has offered an NFT as a “digital keepsake” but it will be further looking into the space "for future ticketing and event engagement opportunities," said the league's SVP of Club Business Development, Bobby Gallo.

"Collecting ticket stubs has always been something our fans love to do, especially for the season’s biggest game, and offering customized Super Bowl NFTs allows us to enhance the gameday experience," Gallo added.

Alongside the ticket release, the NFL will also be releasing a series of historic NFTs leading into Super Bowl LVI. One NFT will be released each day from February 6th to February 13th, as an NFT with the current Super Bowl LVI artwork.

The participating teams, the Los Angeles Rams, and the Cincinnati Bengals have also released NFTs, with the winning team being given a commemorated NFT after the game.

This is not the first time and will probably not be the last time the NFL and Ticketmaster experiment with NFTs. Last year, attendees of games from November to the end of December were given opportunities to claim a "virtual commemorative ticket" as an NFT.
