Cardano to Launch Smart Contracts Today—But Where Are the dApps?

Cardano’s Alonzo hard fork is not without its critics. Read the full article by: Tim Hakki

Key Points:

  • The highly anticipated mainnet launch of the Alonzo hard fork is here but many of the DEXs building on Cardano are delaying their launches until definitive solutions are given to developers to solve issues like the one on Minswap last week.

  • Minswap experienced an issue where they were not able to process more than one transaction at a time which caused the exchange to back up and subsequently shut down.

  • This issue did occur on the Testnet but outside of some contracts made by the ADA developers themselves not much will be launching today.

  • It does not seem we will see the full potential of smart contracts on Cardano right away; however, it is still a step in the right direction for ADA.
