Key Points:
Like many other pro athletes have in the past two years Kevin Durant is trying to further his exposure to cryptocurrency. He is one of many athletes and celebrities that announced they were early investers in Coinbase before it’s launch on the stock market.
Yesterday in partnership with his business associate, Rich Kleiman, we were informed of his interest in creating a SPAC company which would acquire a crypto / blockchain native company. A Special Purpose Aquisition Company is generally formed to combine with private firms and take them public without the need for an IPO.
Infinite Acquisition, the name of KDs SPAC, has not yet stated which blockchain based company they are looking to acquire and only gave the SEC a general idea by naming lending companies to NFT projects. They will also be looking at businesses in the sports, business, and healthcare worlds.
Kevin Durant is no stranger in the business and investing world as he has partnerships spanning from Nike to ICE sparkling water. Possibly the greatest shooter NBA history is taking his next big shot as he is setting himself up for life after basketball.
