Key Points:

  • Coinbase, as well as almost every other exchange, sometimes struggles to load up in high volume times in the past but also seems to be getting better at handling their traffic.

  • Recently; however, Coinbase has been facing connectivity issues which is leaving users unable to use the mobile app or online exchange. This has been an issue since last week but yesterday both Coinbase brokerage and Coinbase Pro were unavailable. “This may cause failed trades, delayed transactions, and unexpected behavior on the webpage and mobile apps,” Coinbase said.

  • Coinbase says that they fixed the issue around 2am this morning and users were able to access the exchange at full functionality. It is speculated that the connection issues could have been due to tokens seeing large increases in SHIB, Crypto.com coin, and GYEN.

  • Some users are still experiencing the issue saying that they’ve been locked out for hours - a day. Elon Musk made a good point following this situation “Any crypto wallet that won’t give you your private keys should be avoided at all costs,”.
