Facebook and Instagram Can Now Display Your NFTs
Meta has been testing out their NFT features since May 2022, starting by rolling out the features to a select group of users. The company announced today (9/29/2022) that now all users in the United States and several other countries now have the ability to share digital collectibles that they own across their platforms.
The setting for Digital collectibles is now available on both platforms. Users can connect a wallet from Coinbase Wallet, Dapper, MetaMask, Rainbow, and Trust Wallet.
Once the wallet is connected, NFT creators and collectors have the ability to choose which NFTs they would like to share. NFTs shared on Instagram will have a shimmer effect, display a “Digital collectible” badge, and the ability to display public information.
The creator and collector of the shared piece can automatically be tagged in the post, depending on privacy settings. Users will only have to connect their digital wallet to either Facebook or Instagram for it to be connected to both.
This new feature across Meta’s platforms only supports Ethereum, Polygon, and Flow blockchains. Users can also connect multiple digital wallets. For a more detailed breakdown of the features, check out this page on Instagram’s Help Center.
