Blade Runner Director Set to Produce Film About Ethereum

Famed director Ridley Scott's production studio, Scott Free Productions, has announced to be making an adaptation of Camila Russo's book "The Infinite Machine" about the founding of the Ethereum network.

As per Deadline, Ridley is attached to produce with fellow colleaguesm Tom Moran and Vera Meyer, as well as Shyam Madiraju being set to write the motion picture.

“I can’t imagine a better team to turn the riveting story about the people behind the most revolutionary technology since the internet into a feature film that will capture the hearts of our generation,” said Russo.

Published in the Summer of 2020, "The Infinite Machine," is the first of three books that chronicles the voyage of Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin, from a teenager mad at the World of Warcraft to co-founder of the second-largest cryptocurrency in the world.

Matthew Leising's 2020 "Out of the Ether," is a similar tale covering the events that went on early at Ethereum when a decentralized venture capital fund was hacked, threatening to take down the cryptocurrency entirely.

"The Cryptopians," published this year and written by Laura Shin is the latest book written about Ethereum, focusing on its founders and their idealogy when bringing the crypto to life.

Ridley Scott has been a force within the movie industry, being the creator of two of the most prolific IPs to ever be put to cinema Alien and Blade Runner, so assuming this ever makes it to the silver screen we can be assured it will be a great film.

Netflix recently released the film, Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King, following the crazy events that went on after the founder of the largest crypto exchange, QuadrigaCX, at the time died suddenly while on his honeymoon, losing hundreds of millions of dollars in the process.
