Decentraland (MANA) is one of the biggest names in the evolving metaverse space along with The Sandbox (SAND). Facebook sparked the movement to a degree when they announced their plans to rebrand to Meta. They have had a big year that has seen the price jump from around $0.10 this time last year to $3.77 at the time of writing.

What makes Decentraland unique is that you can build your own character and design your plot of land to look however you want it to and everything is purchasable or sellable in their marketplace. The marketplace is fueled by the MANA token which is used as the currency used for transacting in the marketplace. Using this currency you can buy clothes for your character, parcels of land to build whatever you want on, and even gambling.

Since it is a virtual world people can get together for all sorts of events that are taking place. This is where UNXD, a luxury marketplace, has decided to host its own and probably first ever Metaverse Fashion Week event. UNXD is also built on the popular layer-2 platform Polygon.

On top of just this event, they have virtual casinos and clubs that you can attend all of the time. Being capable of bridging the real and VR world is also why digital asset giant, Grayscale, believes that metaverses have the potential to be a $1 trillion market annually.

Metaverses present a lot of opportunities from real estate investing to the previously mentioned nightlife that many people may be shuttered from as Covid is back again. The space is so new and technology is evolving around it so quick that the possibilities can be endless.
